Dr. Bowei Zhang, a Ph.D. graduate from Iowa State’s Department of Mechanical Engineering, is the recipient of the 2020 Zaffarano Prize. The Graduate College awards this prize annually to graduate students who show superior performance in publishing research in academic journals.
As you know, the Spring 2020 semester was disrupted by the COVID-19 global pandemic, and Iowa State University adopted a temporary Pass/Not Pass (P/NP) grading policy for graduate (500- and 600-level) courses. The Graduate College has created videos to help graduate students and advisers better understand the Pass/Not Pass grading policy.

The Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine has adopted a temporary Pass/Not Pass grading option for professional courses impacted by the transition to virtual instruction, effective immediately. This policy closely mirrors the policy adopted for undergraduate courses, March 20, 2020.
