Meet our 2022-23 3MT finalists: Abesh Bera

Abesh Bera is a sixth-year graduate student at Iowa State in Microbiology, and he was last year's runner-up in the Three Minute Thesis competition. He will also participate in Thursday's final competition with his presentation, "Biased interaction of different Tubulin Isotypes with Tumor Overexpressed Genes (TOG) determines cell division rate."

Holly Loper is a fifth-year Ph.D. student majoring in Microbiology, and this is her second consecutive year participating in Iowa State's Three Minute Thesis final competition. Meet our 2022-23 3MT finalists: Parvin Mohammadiarvejeh

Parvin Mohammadiarvejeh is a third-year Ph.D. student at Iowa State in Industrial Engineering. She will showcase her research during next week's final Three Minute Thesis competition with her presentation, "Developing Machine Learning and Optimization Models to Recognize Super-Agers."

Postdocs and faculty honored with awards and grants

Fourteen postdoctoral scholars and two principal investigators have been awarded for their contributions to the Iowa State community. Postdocs are eligible for the Postdoctoral Seed Grant, Postdoctoral Scholar Excellence Award for Teaching and Mentoring Students, and the Postdoctoral Scholar Research Excellence Award. Principal investigators are eligible for the Postdoctoral Mentoring Award.

 

Mechanical Engineering student Hamidreza Zobeiri wins Zaffarano Prize

Hamidreza Zobeiri, Ph.D. candidate in Mechanical Engineering, is the winner of the 2022 Zaffarano Prize for Graduate Student Research. Each spring semester, the Graduate College gives this honor to a graduate student with superior publishable research.
